Unearth Malee is a variety of meanings. “Malee” refers to a specific Thai jasmine flower. Malee is also a family Thai name passed down three generations in founder, Marie Pechkam’s family. Another meaning of Unearth Malee is a more emotionally grounded one. It is an unleashing of the culture within oneself and allowing it to develop into something beautiful and natural. All organic soaps are handmade by Marie….with music in the background, soap making on the brain, loving the life.

We make all creations in in our studio space in Claremont, CA.

Ingredients: Currently, all of our soap recipes are made of at least 84% certified organic oils.  Some are close to 96%.  We strive to use organic ingredients when possible.  

Paper: Our paper labels are embedded with wildflower seeds and are plantable. The paper itself is lotka paper, made from the bark of the Daphne bush which regenerates naturally providing a renewable resource.  By using this specific paper, we are benefiting the economic enterprise of rural craftspeople in Nepal. 

Product Packaging: 100% paperboard packaging, which is renewable, biodegradable, recyclable, and a great eco-friendly alternative to petroleum-based plastic. 

Lotion Bars and Treatment Balm Seals: Celons are made from regenerated cellulose. This cellulose is derived from the natural wood-pulp of fast-growing softwood trees, and the material is non-toxic and is recyclable. When discarded, they bio-degrade even faster than paper!

Shipping Material: Paper Mailers are made out of 77% Recycled Paper Fibers and 62% Post-Consumer Material.

Shipping tape has a cellulose backing with a high-performing natural rubber adhesive, is biodegradable and compostable.

Prior to shipping we inspect all packages to ensure that items are sent with care. If any item is damaged during shipment, please contact us within 30 days and we will gladly offer a replacement. Due to the nature of the product we cannot accept returns. Customer satisfaction has always been very important to us; please contact us with any issues concerning your order.

We ship out products within 2-5 business days via USPS First Class or Priority Mail.
